Mobile App Developer

We are currently looking for someone with experience in hybrid mobile application development who can help us create our new mobile app which will form a central part of our public engagement strategy promoting sustainable diets. Ideally we would like someone who can commit at least 4 hours per week.

Requirements:

• Experience developing hybrid mobile applications (preferably using PhoneGap/Apache Cordova);
• Development skill set: HTML5, CSS3, AngularJS (experience in Ionic Framework is a plus);
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Ideally, you will also posses one or more of the following:

• Experience with iOS/Android development and deployment;
• Mobile UI/UX design skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with regular meetings;
• Understanding of mobile technologies and platform differences;
• Working knowledge of Photoshop or other relevant design tools as well as a keen eye for design;

This is an unpaid voluntary role and the work is to be completed remotely. You will be joining our small but dedicated mobile app team working towards developing the app as an engagement tool for driving social change towards addressing climate change and improving people’s health in the process.

Less Meat Less Heat is a grass-roots non-profit organisation focused on avoiding runaway climate change by reducing the consumption of the types of meat most damaging to the climate – beef and lamb – alongside a transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. We are working towards achieving this ambitious target through public education and promotion of a carbon-conscious climatarian diet. Livestock agriculture represents both the biggest threat to our climate as well as the biggest opportunity for saving it.
