Marketing Professional wanted to Join the Fitzroy Computer Clubhouse Advisory Group

 

 

The Fitzroy Computer Clubhouse is a free after-school program which gives young people from refugee and low socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to explore their interests and develop their learning through the use of technology.

A marketing professional is specifically being sought to use their existing networks and experience to promote the Fitzroy Computer Clubhouse.

The Advisory Group meets twice a term after business hours (approximately 8 times a year) and Advisory Group members may advise and work on meeting actions in their own time.

All Advisory Group members are to be registered Volunteers with the Fitzroy Learning Network and have undertaken all compulsory components of induction, including a Working With Children Check.

Purpose and Aims:

The Computer Clubhouse Advisory Group is a collection of individuals who bring unique knowledge and skills to support the work of the Computer Clubhouse.   Advisory Group members should be among the best and most outspoken advocates for the Clubhouse program, both locally and globally.

The Advisory Group does not have formal authority to govern the organization, that is, it  cannot issue directives which must be followed. Rather, the Advisory Group serves to make recommendations and/or provide key information and materials to the Fitzroy Learning Network Inc. Committee of Management.

Aims of the Advisory Group are-

•Attract mentors and members.

•Build relationships with local groups .

•Build commitment within the community for the role of the Clubhouse in improving young people’s lives.

•Provide advice and guidance to the Co-ordinator.

•Provide a link to obtain financing.

•Provide a link between the Computer Clubhouse and the FLN Committee of Management.

•Provide a link to diverse expertise beyond that of the Co-ordinator and of the FLN Executive Officer, e.g., business knowledge

•Be a sounding board for the Co-ordinator and the rest of the FLN team

•Deliver additional activities / outcomes to complement those delivered by the Co-ordinator and the FLN Executive Officer.
