Graphic Designer

Asha India is looking for a Graphic Designer to facilitate the publishing of a recipe book. This book will be about women working in brothels in Mumbai, India, who have skills with cooking and other art forms. The proceeds of this book will go to a safehouse there that supports these women. The purpose of the book is to show the women's creativity and humanity. We seek to help raise advocacy for women under the oppression of sexual slavery.

The volunteer would be one we would meet with as a team to further discuss the work we want to do. We want to publish a recipe book made by the women, for the women. Myself and a couple others from Asha India are hoping to go to Mumbai for a month mid-next year to interview women, take photos of their meals, and write short summaries of them as women and find more about who they are. We wish to show these women as human beings, creative people with a voice.
