About the role
We help people diagnosed with depression get back on their feet using exercise!
Established in 2013, Mood Active is a small, not for profit association based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. We are a team of 8 and we provide low cost 8 week group exercise programs for people diagnosed with depression and anxiety to help them get back on their feet and also manage their mood longer term. Participants are typically referred to us by GPs, psychologists and community organisations and to date, feedback has been very positive. As a result, we are looking to expand our operation into greater Sydney and this has created a need for a Grants and Fundraising Consultant to work from home for approx 4 to max 8 hours a week to help us generate funds to sustain ongoing operations
Key responsibilities would include
- Identifying potential grants, sponsorship and other fundraising opportunities.
- Creating an annual fundraising and contact plan in consultation with management
- Implementing this plan
- Writing grants applications and sponsorship proposals
- Contacting and meeting with potential sponsors with the aim of developing a partnership longer term
- Tracking activity and ensuring database records are maintained
Required
- Own computer, phone and internet (working from home)
- Ability to work autonomously incluing planning and organising
- Confident phone manner
- Strong internet search, email & report/proposal writing skills (Basic Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Experience in Grant Applications Writing, Business Development or Proposal Writing, Fundraising (or similar)
- Resilience
- A desire to help people in the field of mental health
Preferred
- Experience with Salesforce database
- Experience in the health services industry
