Funding Finder

Turning streets into communities is the focus of a national project that is forging links on a local level and fostering an Australia-wide network of groups. The Street by Street project helps bring neighbours together, providing resources and support.

We are seeking a Funding Finder (volunteer) to speed up the expansion of Street by Street through bringing in funding. This role could be shared between 2 or 3 volunteers to share the load.

The role of the Funding Finder is to achieve funding through such steps as:

• Investigating suitable organisations with charity status to identify an agency that can auspice us for philanthropic grants.
• Leading on fundraising – proposing options and organising activities.
• Leading a crowd funding campaign.
• Placing Street by Street on donation giving websites.
• Identifying suitable funding sources and application requirements.
• Speaking to funding contact people to see if we meet requirements and they
like our project.
• Drafting funding applications.
• Organising meetings with key people such as politicians or key departmental
personnel to discuss funding.

We are looking for people who:
• are interested in being part of a project that turns streets into communities
• are proactive, reliable and organised
• have good communication skills
• have experience in fundraising, grant seeking and grant writing (desirable).

You’ll have support to do this:
• Guidance and advice from Irene Opper, Project Manager, and Maureen Maher, Project Coordinator by phone and email.
• Information on our website, kits and Media Kit on the project.
