AVI is once again partnering with VSO to recruit a Financial Management Advisor to work as part of the Tanzania Local Economic Development – Extractive Industries project which aims to increase the benefit to local communities of investment in the extractives industry.

The Financial Management Advisor will work with the Tanzanian Small Industries Development Organisation (SIDO) to coach and mentor local suppliers (SMEs) in the extractives supply chain to improve their capacity to reach ‘approved supplier status’ with major extractive companies in their region, or their sub-contractors. To achieve this, SME’s will be supported in relation to their financial management capacity and their ability to access financing, win contracts, undertake budgeting exercises and report financially.

To be considered for this position, you will require:

  • A Bachelor degree holder in Financial Management, Accounting, or a related subject. 
  • Fully qualified accountant registration
  • Experience developing and implementing financial management systems. 
  • Ability to formulate and implement financial regulations, policies and procedures. 
  • Strong experience establishing and supporting organization development

VSO has been increasing its focus on secure livelihoods in Tanzania for the last three years, this assignment increases the capacity to allow more Tanzanians to access financial resources. If selected, you will be required to undertake VSO specific learning modules, receive extensive pre-departure and in-country support, as well as return flights, accommodation and a modest local salary sufficient to cover living expenses.
