We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative individual to join our team to help increase awareness of McAuley and the women and children we work with. You will enjoy working in a busy and diverse role where you will be responsible for implementing the organisation’s communications and advocacy strategy.

 

The Communications Officer responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and production of newsletters and promotional materials across the organisation for both internal and external audiences
  • Coordinate McAuley’s social media channels and work on strategies and plans for growing audience
  • Develop content for and maintain organisation’s website
  • Work on the development of advocacy and community awareness campaigns
  • Identify media opportunities to promote the organisation’s work and issues of importance to the organisation.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant qualification in Communications.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years in communications role including social media coordination.
  • Exceptional writing and communications skills – must provide three samples of articles/stories written.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and working with a team to develop content and stories.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate community awareness programs or advocacy campaigns.
  • Understanding of family violence and homelessness.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks to deliver on agreed deadlines.

A Police check, current Working with Children’s Check and a current driver’s license are required prior to commencement. Salary to be negotiated according to experience. Salary packaging available.
