About

Volunteering Tasmania (Inc) (VT) is an incorporated community based not for profit organisation with a Board of Governance that is elected annually. The operations of the organisation are administered by a team of paid staff with the support of volunteers.

Volunteering Tasmania has offices in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie.

It actively engages with the national peak body, Volunteering Australia, a nation-wide network of State peak bodies and resource centres.

Our core business is:

  • Promotion of the principles and ethics of volunteering.
  • Providing information and support to volunteers and those who would like to volunteer
  • Providing resources, information and advice to organisations that work with volunteers.
  • Developing policies on volunteering issues.
  • Forming partnerships with government, business and the community to enhance and develop volunteering in Tasmania.
  • Conducting community consultations and research
