Stephens Public Relations Pty Ltd is a boutique consultancy established in 2004, independently-owned and operated by Julie Stephens, a professional with more than 22 years of experience in public relations, marketing communications and advertising.

At SPR we take a holistic approach to our clients’ communication needs, developing integrated campaigns that are strategically designed to meet corporate and marketing objectives and are creative in their execution.  

We have specialist expertise in the not-for-profit sector and are familiar with best practice in creating accessible communication for people of all abilities, particularly people with vision impairment.

SPR provides consulting services in strategic communication, covering the spectrum of services from campaign development and planning through to implementation, monitoring and reporting.  We believe in creating strategic solutions that integrate a range of communication disciplines that work together to deliver a consistent brand identity or compelling awareness campaign in the most cost-effective way possible.

Examples of work

 • LifeTec Queensland – we assisted Independent Living Centres Queensland Inc to change its name, rebrand and launch the new name to its service users and stakeholders, and to launch the organisation’s move to new premises.  We developed new marketing collateral including brochures, newsletters, a website and annual report.  Thereafter, we engaged in media relations and publicity campaigns as well as a stakeholder engagement program, to increase awareness and raise the profile of the organisation’s outreach program in regional Queensland.

Inclusion Melbourne – we assisted Gawith Villa to change its name, undertook stakeholder research and name development activities, and assisted Inclusion Melbourne to roll out communication on a new service model to stakeholders and services users.  

Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria – SPR is engaged in the total communication function for the Foundation including undertaking a communication audit and content review and development and implementation of a media strategy.  We undertook Epilepsy Awareness Week (May 2009) publicity activities resulting in a high level of quality coverage on national television and in local and regional print media and radio; we continue to assist with brand and collateral development incorporating the new logo.  We developed a well-received annual report for the 2007-08 year.

Vision Australia Foundation – Julie Stephens has provided high level marketing advice to the senior management team and Board and managed marketing communication strategy development, brand equity, media relations, issues and internal and external communication, along with budget control and reporting.
