Inspirational Workplaces, an organisational psychology consultancy, is offering free 12 month leadership development programs to six high-potential, young Australians.

The organisation said it wants to grow Australia’s next generation of leaders to help build a better future for Australia and the world.

The program is open to all young people aged 18 to 30 from any background and experience level, though Inspirational Workplaces said it is particularly relevant to those who are already leaders or are taking on leadership roles in the near future.

Psychologist and Managing Director of Inspirational Workplaces, Iain Crossing, said it was important for young people to hone their leadership skills.

“A complex array of business and societal challenges face leaders in organisations today. So, it’s very important to develop skilled leaders who can bring about the changes necessary for our sustained prosperity and well-being,” Crossing said.

“The Future Leaders Development Program is based on the same approach we use with our clients’ executives. The program uses a rigorous and structured framework, which we tailor to each person’s individual style and needs.”

“Many people think that leadership is an innate quality. But much of what makes someone a ‘good leader’ is learned. As Organisational Psychologists, this is our differentiating feature; we have the ability to identify the specific areas of personal development that a leader needs in order to thrive and target those areas effectively.”

Applicants need to be able to articulate what they will do as a leader to make a positive difference to Australia and how this will benefit society.

  • Display commitment to personal development and their community

  • Express a willingness to use their leadership skills to give back to others
