GOOD PITCH Comes to Melbourne
12 March 2014 at 3:38 pm

GOOD PITCH AUSTRALIA – the international forum for social impact documentaries – will hold its first information session in Melbourne on Thursday night, March 13.

GOOD PITCH brings together documentary filmmakers with foundations, Not for Profits, campaigners, philanthropists, policy-makers, brands, educators, broadcasters and media to forge alliances around ground-breaking films that are good for society.

An information session on how filmmakers, philanthropists and Not for Profits can get involved in GOOD PITCH will be held tonight at the Victorian College of the Arts.

GOOD PITCH2 AUSTRALIA Executive Director Malinda Wink said the project connected the world's best social impact films with new allies and partners.

“GOOD PITCH2 AUSTRALIA is calling out for outstanding documentaries that can be used as a powerful medium at the heart of local, national and international campaigns with the purpose of making a sustainable difference,” she said.

Organisers are currently searching for seven filmmaking teams to pitch their feature documentary and its associated outreach campaign to a judging panel of 10 invited representatives and a theatre of up to 300 participants at the Sydney Opera House on October 8.

Applications close on April 10.

“GOOD PITCH is all about impact. It aims to support filmmakers by creating alliances, finding new avenues of support, funding, growing audience and distribution; and magnifying the social impact of outstanding feature-length documentary films,” Shark Island Institute’s Ian Darling said.

The GOOD PITCH² AUSTRALIA presentation and drinks will be held Thursday at 6pm for 6.30pm and will finish at 7.30pm at Federation Hall, Victorian College of the Arts, Grant Street, Southbank.

Pro Bono Australia is a community partner with GOOD PITCH AUSTRALIA.
