Queensland Funds Offer Up to $30K

Grants of up to $30,000 are up for grabs as part of Queensland Community Foundation’s latest funding round.
The funding comes out of two QCF funds – the QCF General Fund and the Keith Gay Charitable Fund.
The QCF General Fund’s 2014 Funding Round is directed at “charitable organisations seeking to improve their ability to remain competitive and sustainable through the enhancement of governance, including business models, to provide quality outcomes for their clients and communities in a changing operational environment”.
Grants of up to $30,000 are on offer out of a total figure of $270,000 for small to medium Queensland Not for Profits.
“The Foundation prefers to fund 100 per cent of the project,” QCF said.
Expressions of Interest will only be considered from charitable organisations which are:
- Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1 status;
- Small to mid-tier (annual revenue not more than $20,000,000);
- Operating in communities throughout Queensland. Special consideration will be given to those outside metropolitan areas.
The Keith Gay Charitable Fund was established to “support the charitable purpose of the relief of poverty, sickness and distress”.
“It funds assistance for disadvantaged, sick or disabled children and their families living in Australia – for their health, education and well-being,” QCF said.
“For the 2014 grant round a total of $67,000 is available to eligible organisations who best meet the objective and criteria of the Keith Gay Charitable Trust Fund.”
As part of this fund, grants of between $5,000 and $10,000 are available to eligible organisations in the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba regions.
QCF will consider initiatives which:
- Involve eligible charities that are small to medium in size;
- Manage, conduct or implement programs supporting children in the age group 0 – 14 in the areas of health, education and well-being;
- Operate in communities throughout Queensland with special consideration to organisations in the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba/Darling Downs regions;
- Involve projects/activities smaller in size and scale and not seeking a small contribution to a large project.
