SVA launches Private Ancillary Fund Service

Social Ventures Australia (SVA) has launched a Private Ancillary Fund Service to help Australian philanthropists understand PAFs and their contribution to the Not for Profit sector.

According to SVA, the Private Ancillary Fund Service is designed to be a one-stop-shop for philanthropists seeking to understand the simple, tax effective nature of PAF structures.

The Private Ancillary Fund Service is targeted at high wealth Australians interested in getting involved with philanthropy.

SVA has established a Private Ancillary Fund Council, comprising some of Australia’s best known philanthropists, to provide guidance and support and identify emerging trends and influences.

SVA says a unique component of the service is that it connects those considering establishing a PAF with philanthropists who already have one in place, enabling experiences and learnings to be shared.

The Federal Government congratulated Social Ventures Australia on the launch of its new service.

A spokesperson says the Gillard Government is committed to implementing their Not for Profit sector reform agenda, which will increase transparency and accountability across the sector, further encouraging philanthropy by building confidence that donations are well spent.

The Private Ancillary Fund Service offers general advice, in-house establishment and administrative services (if required), referrals to specialist advisors (if required) and ongoing support to PAF founders.

SVA will be running a private half day workshop for interested philanthropists to explain the PAF framework and tax benefits and to help philanthropists determine if a PAF is the right structure for their giving needs.

Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a Not for Profit organisation that provides funding and strategic support to selected Not for Profit partners, and offers consulting services to the Not for Profit sector more broadly.
