Support Growing for CCA Peak Body
Posted: Tuesday, June 1, 2010 - 09:22
The new peak body for the Not for Profit sector, the Community Council of Australia (CCA) says support is growing as new members sign up.
Since launching in March 2010, CCA says it now has 22 member organisations and its website is now up and running.
Founder and CEO, Kevin MacDonald says since the launch the advocacy organisation has achieved a number of priorities including producing a Strategic Directions document and Business Plan as well as commissioning and launching a report through Access Economics on the issues facing the NFP sector in 2010 (e.g. Henry Review).
MacDonald says CCA is in the process of securing Corporate Partners and Sector Partners as well as additional funding to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of the organisation and its program of work.
He says he is also planning to commission another research report into the further changes and debates expected around the NFP sector in the lead up to the Federal election.
CCA plans to hold meetings in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne in mid to late July, to enable members, prospective members, colleagues and partners of CCA the opportunity to get together with CCA Directors to discuss the NFP environment and CCA’s plans for response to changes in the environment.
