New CEO For Australian Women Donors Network

Network Chairwoman, Eve Mahlab says Keady ran their media relations campaign for the recent Women Mobilising Millions visit, which resulted in extensive media coverage Australia-wide and substantial donations for women and girls. 

 

Mahlab says the campaign also resulted in a greater understanding and awareness of the Women Donors Network mission, which is to see an increased investment in projects that support women and girls and to build gender sensitivity into all philanthropic funding. 

 

Keady comes to the philanthropic sector with media, marketing and events expertise. It was during a sabbatical overseas, working for ultra high-net worth families, that she says she became inspired by progressive philanthropy and decided to pursue a career in Australia's growing philanthropic sector. 

 

She is currently undertaking the Masters in Business (Social Investment and Philanthropy) at Swinburne University, and also has a degree in both public relations and journalism.

 

Her new position also coincides with preparations for the July launch of the organisation's Online Project Hub which will showcase the various projects (existing and start-ups) that assist women and girls around Australia and globally. Charitable organisations will have an opportunity to register their program/project (at no charge) detailing the program, the issues/need and level of investment required. 

 

Private donors and foundations will then be able to view the projects/organisations. 

 

Eve Mahlab says private donors and foundation executives have given glowing reports of their experience with the first-ever ‘Gender Lens for Inclusive Philanthropy’ workshops held in Melbourne and Sydney last month. Produced and staged by Mary Crooks of the Victorian Women’s Trust, the workshop is a world-leading program on applying gender sensitivity to grantmaking activities. 

 

The program is designed for foundation trustees, executive officers and private donors. The next workshops will be held in Melbourne on July 23 and September 10, and in Sydney on July 24 and September 7.
