Cause Driven Film Festival Calls for Entries

A US based Film Festival exclusively for Not for Profits and cause advocates, is calling on organisations and filmmakers from around the world, and especially Australia to submit entries into the 2010 event.

Called, Lights. Action. Help and now in its second year, the festival celebrates cause-driven films and their messages.

Festival creator and co-founder, David Neff says no other film festival brings together filmmakers and Not for Profits to share their stories and promote their causes. Last year’s festival brought in over 140 submissions of documentaries, PSAs and short films focusing on cause-driven issues.

Neff says the aim is to foster the growth of this industry and offer a place where people looking to use their talents for good can collaborate.

Rich Vázquez, Lights. Camera. Help. co-founder says film and video are the best way for Not for Profits and other cause-driven organisations to share their stories with the world.

In July, Lights. Camera. Help. will judge the submissions based on the cinematic quality and the ability to tell the Not for Profit’s story, among other factors. The winning films are then awarded the proceeds from the festival's ticket sales.

Lights. Camera. Help. is a Not for Profit organisation that is dedicated to encouraging other Not for Profit and cause-driven organisations to use film and video to tell their stories. They do this through education, volunteer match programs, screenings and an annual film festival.

Submissions will be open until June 30 and the submission form can be downloaded at www.lightscamerahelp.com/home. The festival will be held July 29-August 1 in Austin, Texas.
