Posted: Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - 09:47
The Australian Tax Office has released a new webpage providing answers to frequently asked questions about tax concession charities, including endorsement requirements, types of tax concessions available and how to check if an organisation is a tax concession charity.
The site also outlines common errors made by organisations when completing the tax concession charity application form and reasons why the ATO fails applications.
The questions and answers are grouped under specific headings:
- Tax concession charity (TCC)
- Applying for TCC endorsement
- Maintaining TCC endorsement
- Fringe benefits tax (FBT)
- Goods and services tax (GST)
The FAQ site can be found at www.ato.gov.au
