The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Grants and Research Officer to research, identify and maximise funding opportunities through Trusts and Foundations, to build relationships with existing and new grant funders and private foundations with the aim of generating income for the NGV.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will identify and research new grant funding opportunities and grow the grant income stream for the NGV by developing and producing proposals for grant funders and private foundations in line with the NGV’s acquisitions, programs and exhibitions. Other key responsibilities include:
- Leading the grant funding process and application from research to submission, collaborating with departments across the organisation to explore fundable projects and programs to maximise funding opportunities available to the NGV.
- Managing acquittals for successful grants including evaluations, reporting and crediting requirements and providing regular reports back to the organisation on the status of asks and funding proposals and on relevant research projects.
- Managing relationships with key grant funders and major stakeholders, identifying relevant cultivation and stewardship opportunities to maximise funding potential through suitable NGV events and programs, and provide regular formal and informal updates on funded projects.
To be successful you will have a tertiary qualification coupled with a well-developed understanding and practical experience of the principles of philanthropic fundraising, stakeholder management and campaign research, within a high profile organisation. You can confidently convey ideas and information in a clear and interesting way and ensure written communications contain the necessary information to achieve their purpose. You can adapt the content, style, message or tone of a presentation to suit the audience and can sell your own ideas by linking them to others’ values, needs and goals.
You have the demonstrated ability to accurately manage data within a specialised database, (i.e Tessitura or equivalent) and the ability to maintain effective office/organisational systems. You can identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal, identifying more and less critical activities and operating accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required.
