About the role:

We are currently seeking a qualified professional for the position of Financial Accountant. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the provision of financial accounts processes and procedures of Learning Links.

Working closely with the General Manager Corporate Services you will ensure Learning Links’ accounting policies, procedures and practices are in accordance with accounting standards and all laws and regulations.

You will also be responsible for managing and leading a team of accounting professionals and business support staff to ensure they are meeting business requirements and performing at an optimal level.

Essential Criteria:

• A Bachelor of Accounting or relevant degree including a CPA/CA
• Demonstrated leadership ability, team management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate accounting principles in easy to understand language.
• Strong analytical, organisation and reasoning skills.
• Strong business and strategic acumen, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting roles in organisations with turnover in excess of $10m.
• Experience prioritising and executing tasks in a high pressure environment to drive results
• Ability to work on a range of tasks and exercise initiative to ensure an efficient and quality level of service is being delivered.
• A commitment to high level customer service as well as the ability to negotiate and manage external service agreements
• Experience using Navision Accounting system or equivalent
• Demonstrated project accounting and project management experience
• Ability to deal with sensitive issues and information in a confidential manner

Desirable:

• Experience or sound knowledge of not-for-profit accounting, including an understanding of grant accounting, compliance and reporting.
