An experienced fundraising practitioner role has arisen within the University Advancement Office. The University Advancement Office aims to advance Swinburne University of Technology’s philanthropic and reputational capital among key audiences both nationally and internationally.
The role of Advancement Manager, University Advancement will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of key donors and prospects. This role forms part of a small, dedicated team developing and securing philanthropic relationships in collaboration with faculties, centres and researchers that deliver outcomes aligned with Swinburne’s 2020 plan.
This multifaceted role will also be involved in:
• Working with staff across the university, to build and manage internal networks and to assist in the development of specific prospects and donor stewardship.
• Partnering with Development colleagues to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts from alumni, philanthropists, philanthropic organisations, industry partners, trusts and foundations.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Demonstrated fundraising experience at a senior level, preferably within tertiary education environment, with a sound knowledge of appropriate concepts, methods and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and deliver six figure gifts
• Strong ability to plan, organise and simultaneously complete multiple tasks with prioritisation to meet deadlines
• Strong people engagement, relationship development and provision of a current relevant network or portfolio.
