About the Organisation

The Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (DATSIP) is a Queensland government department, established to improve social and economic outcomes, and increase community engagement, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

About the Opportunity

DATSIP have a highly rewarding opportunity for a Service Centre Manager to join their friendly, close-knit team in Mount Isa, on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Regional Director of North Queensland, this position will see you providing effective leadership to the Centre and its staff, alongside establishing and building relationships with key stakeholders within the community, in order to ensure smooth service delivery aimed at closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous social, economical, health, and educational outcomes.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and management to the service centre team, providing guidance and support to staff as required;
  • Liaising with Indigenous community members and acting as an advocate for the Indigenous communities' needs;
  • Identifying and establishing relationships with key stakeholders including Government agencies, businesses, external service providers, funding bodies, and elected officials;
  • Coordinating and delivering appropriate industry and community engagement processes, including the implementation of the Economic Participation Framework;
  • Ensuring appropriate systems, processes, networks, and relationships are established and maintained to promote effective service delivery;
  • Preparing submissions, reports, and briefs on significant issues within the community, providing advice and insight to the Regional Director; and
  • Contributing to the regions strategic and operational planning process.

Your hard work and commitment will be rewarded with a highly attractive remuneration package of $106,131 – $112,247 based on skills and experience, plus super and a wide range of benefits, including:
