Sexually Abusive Behaviour Consultation and Support Program

The Australian Childhood Foundation is a national children's charity aiming to prevent child abuse and reduce the harm it causes to children, families and the community. We provide specialist trauma counselling and therapeutic care to child victims of abuse, as well as running research, education and community awareness programs.

You should apply for this position if you are experienced in working with young people who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviours and are interested in using innovative trauma-based frameworks to them to recover from the effects of abuse and family violence.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced social work or psychology trained professional to work with young people who display sexually abusive or problematic sexualised behaviours, and their residential carers. You will provide a clinical leadership role, responsible for developing therapeutic interventions for young people in the residential care system who engage in sexually abusive behaviours. You will work closely with carers to support the implementation of a therapeutic environment for young people in the program. There are also opportunities to be involved in research, training and advocacy initiatives. The position will work from locations in Ringwood, Bendigo and Mildura to provide targeted therapeutic support services across the North Division.
