This is your opportunity to contribute to the longest established provider of community-based early childhood education and care services in Queensland.

The Creche and Kindergarten Association Limited (C&K) is a public company limited by guarantee, that has been providing early childhood education and care (ECEC) services to children throughout Queensland since 1907.  We currently operate close to 400 services across the state.

The Board of C&K is now seeking expressions of interest to fill two (2) Board positions that will become vacant during 2016 as a result of directors’ retirement. 

The C&K Board comprises a maximum of 10 directors including the Chair.  Directors are appointed to the Board for a 2-year term and can be re-appointed by the members at the end of each term to a maximum of 12 years.

To complement existing skills on the Board, C&K is seeking candidates with the following backgrounds:

• Early childhood education and care, including an understanding of the ECEC industry and trends in the sector

• Marketing and Communications

• Business Ownership and Management

Satisfaction of the following criteria will also be viewed favourably:

1. Have recently had, or will have a child attending a C&K service

2. Interpersonal skills that respect diverse views, create collaboration and build trust

3. Ability to advance C&K’s interests and reputation in government, professional and social networks

4. Previous experience in serving as a member of a Board

Board meetings are currently held every eight weeks in Brisbane during working hours for approximately half a day. The Board has three committees; the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, the Governance and Remuneration Committee and the Nomination’s Committee.  The successful applicants may be required to participate in one or more committee.

This is a voluntary board, however reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
