THE ROLE

Reporting to the CEO, this important role is part of the leadership team, with direct responsibility for key activities, including the following:

  • Develop an overall organisational fundraising capability for the organisation

  • Liaise with leadership team members to integrate and optimise fundraising activities with events and other revenue generating activities across the organisation

  • Scope the system requirements for a donor management system / CRM

  • Manage data migration into the donor management system

  • Operate and manage the donor management system

  • Determine and develop multi-channel fundraising priorities – including direct mail campaigns, major gifts, trusts and foundations including private ancillary foundations, corporate sector opportunities, regular and workplace giving and bequests

  • Develop and manage all fundraising communication material, including promotionalcollateral and website

  • Develop a social media fundraising plan over time

  • Plan and budget all fundraising related projects

  • Develop, monitor and report on fundraising performance indicators

  • Attract, develop and retain fundraising team members

  • Manage all fundraising compliance related matters

  • Assist the CEO generally on revenue generating matters and broader organisational issues as required

THE SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 5 to 10 years experience in a fundraising / marketing / business development role where you have held responsibility for some of the key activities noted above

  • Some experience in building an organisational fundraising capability and / or experience in direct and segment marketing of consumer brands in a CRM environment

  • An ability to work ‘hands on’ with systems and information at the detailed level, right up to developing overall income generation ideas and delivering projects

  • Experience working with people at all levels of seniority

  • Highly developed numerate skills with strong experience in implementing evidence based revenue generating / fundraising strategies

  • A positive personality and a keeness to lead

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Good organisational skills

  • Well-developed problem solving skills

  • Well-developed relationship management skills to manage internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated social / community engagement

  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably

  • A current drivers licence
