The Organisation
Asthma Foundation Queensland and New South Wales is a not-for-profit entity that exists to build life-changing services and fund world-class research to help free people from the limitations of their asthma, in a way that is efficient and sustainable.

Supporting over 60% of people nationally living with asthma, the organisation provides a variety of educational programs and community support including an Asthma Help Line, and funds critical research to help find a cure for asthma.

The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Fundraising and Communications, the Community Fundraising Coordinator will develop and grow the Community Fundraising Program. The key areas of focus are engagement with stakeholders and the broader community and managing activities and events across QLD and NSW. The successful applicant will be a key driver of sustainable revenue generation and community relationships to support funding for Foundation programs and research initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the community fundraising strategy and program.

  • Identify opportunities and prepare applications for community fundraising initiatives.

  • Plan & execute all related activities and events including Blue Dress Day and PJ Day, and as required for World Asthma Day and National Asthma Week.

  • Achieve community fundraising and organisational targets within budget.

  • Manage the community fundraising speaking engagement and events calendar.

  • Develop and maintain opportunities with digital fundraising platforms and manage community fundraising collateral requirements.

  • Manage the community fundraising volunteer program.

Skills, Qualifications and Attributes required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a fundraising related area or relevant industry experience.

  • Demonstrated achieve strategic and operational goals within budget.

  • Proven experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders, successful .

  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Proven event management experience including working with volunteers, preferably in the not-for profit sector.

  • Experience utilising digital peer to peer fundraising platforms with proven results.

  • Superior written and oral communication skills with experience preparing communications, and proposals to a diverse audience.

  • Self-directed and motivated with exceptional interpersonal skills working in a team environment.

  • Membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia, or demonstrated knowledge of professional fundraising standards, practices and guiding principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and demonstrated database experience (Mailman or iMIS preferred).

  • A commitment to the not-for-profit sector and support of organisational mission, values and guiding behaviours.

  • Current driver’s license – Class C.
