Cook for a Cure

Cook for a Cure is a community outreach event throughout August 2011, presented by Research Australia, where friends, family, and work colleagues can share a meal to support their chosen area in health and medical research.

Cook for a Cure is a new nationwide community event launching in August 2011. By cooking and sharing a healthy meal, Australians will be able to select and support research to find new cures and treatments, in areas such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and asthma.

Cook for a Cure brings together leading Australian researchers under a single umbrella, making it easier for donors to identify the cause they wish to support, and to donate to a research program by some of Australia’s leading researchers. Every Australian will be impacted by a serious illness during their life either personally, through friends or family.

Together we can make a difference by supporting research through Cook for a Cure by: hosting a breakfast, lunch or dinner for friends or family; throwing a BBQ; inviting friends to a picnic; or holding morning or afternoon tea with work colleagues.

Many of Australia’s leading researchers, working in hospitals, research institutes and universities will be participants in Research Australia’s Cook for a Cure – a community gateway to supporting new discoveries for a healthy Australia.
