Can you imagine a future in which our society had no volunteers, no community organisations, no non-profit groups or NGOs? These are the groups that make up the vital 'third sector' of Australia's cosmopolitan civil society.
We want to include your voice in this dialogue, 'Civil Society in 2020: Vision, Strategy, Action.' Sponsored by the Centre for Social Impact and Facilitated by Julie McCrossin, broadcaster and journalist, we invite you to join us for a lively interactive panel discussion.
The panel includes a diverse range of community leaders within the Third Sector, who will discuss and debate the strengthening of civil society. The panellists are:
- David Thompson,CEO Jobs Australia
- Alison Peters, Director, Council of Social Service of NSW (NCOSS)
- Stephen Judd, CEO – Hammond Care and Director Community Council of Australia
- Elenie Poulos, Minister of the Uniting Church in Australia and National Director of Uniting Justice Australia
- Amanda Tattersall, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Unions NSW
- John Fitzgerald, Director of Development, Surf Lifesaving Australia
Whether you work, volunteer or conduct research to support the vital activities of Third Sector organisations you may not even consider the total impact that your activities contribute towards civil society.
