The Peer Activity Leader Program (PAL) is an initiative that works to - promote physical activity, enhance school connectedness, develop social competence, provide leadership opportunities, enhance relationships across school and develop community partnerships.

 

The Peer Activity Leader Program (PAL) is an initiative that works to -

promote physical activity, enhance school connectedness, develop social competence, provide

leadership opportunities, enhance relationships across school and develop community partnerships.

Senior students are trained in the PAL program, equipping them to run activities for junior students at

lunchtime, during classes or after school. Staff who have undertaken PAL training may adopt a range of

roles including that of training the student leaders.

The peer model is utilised to provide valuable skills to senior students and support the concept and

positive aspects of peer role modelling. A key aspect of the program is increasing participation among

those who may be isolated at school or not normally involved in physical activity. This is achieved

through the targeting of specific participants, the skills of the young leaders and the games and activities

chosen.

The training equips staff with the skills to train student leaders to implement the program into schools or

selected settings.

Cost: $75.00 per participant without purchase of PAL Kit or $229.50 with PAL Kit

we recommend 2 kits per school
