Politics, Religion & Election Issues

John Warhurst will be speaking about religion and politics in Australian federal election campaigns, with special reference to 2010 and to social issues. This will include church lobbying of all sorts, relations with parties and governments and the role of the faith of political leaders.

 

Professor John Warhurst has taught political science in various universities for more than 30 years and is now Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the Australian National University. He is a former president of the Australasian Political Studies Association. John now writes a weekly column for The Canberra Times and also has a regular column for the Eureka Street magazine. He is active in public affairs as Deputy Chair of the Australian Republican Movement.
