Major line up of talent supports the first Lord Mayor’s Command Performance Support Act, In conjunction with the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, is announcing the inaugural Lord Mayor’s Command Performance, to be held at The Melbourne Town Hall on Friday 2nd of July.
This will be a spectacular charity event bringing together some of Australia’s most popular artists such as Judith Durham (ex Seekers) and Colin Hay, super groups Eskimo Joe and Basement Birds, as well as the next generation of music stars like Bobby Andonov, finalist in Australia’s Got Talent.
Joining those performers mentioned above will be: Kate Ceberano, Brian Cadd, Russell Morris, Keith Potger (ex Seekers), Swanee, Alexander King, Allan Zavod, Urban Cirque, Ian “Molly” Meldrum, Melbourne Town Hall concert organist David Macfarlane, Denise Drysdale, Wilbur Wilde, John Blackman, Paul Martell, Eddie McGuire, David Mann, Indigenous Dance Group and The Peter Sullivan Big Band (feat Geoff “Coxy” Cox). Wurundjeri Elder will perform the welcome to country ceremony.
Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Robert Doyle, said: “This gala variety performance is not to be missed, with a stellar line up of artists and celebrities from all areas of our diverse entertainment industry performing at the magnificent Melbourne Town Hall for one night only. I am proud to be associated with this unique concert experience”.
The event, to be held on Friday, 2nd July, is in aid of Support Act, the Australian music industry’s benevolent fund providing relief and assistance to members of the the Australian music industry who are in need or suffering hardship, illness or distress. All artists are donating their time and talent to this cause.
