Oxfam Australia has developed a new mining advocacy strategy in response to the complexities of mining in developing countries and conflict zones. We seek to influence the policy and practice of Australian mining companies, to lobby the Australian government to protect human rights, and to build capacity among mine affected communities. This forum will be an opportunity to hear about Oxfam Australia’s mining advocacy program, to learn about international corporate accountability developments, and to understand how some companies are responding to their responsibility to respect human rights
