Launch of Philanthropy Australia Sydney's Education Affinity Group

he Philanthropy Australia (Sydney) Education Affinity Group's proposed terms of reference are:

To build a network of funders who are actively supporting proven, evidence-based programs to improve education outcomes in Australia;
To provide a knowledge centre for the dissemination of evidence based research to inform effective grantmaking in education, which will drive and contribute to the improving of education outcomes in Australia;
To collaborate and engage with Government and non-governmental experts in the field, peak bodies and researchers, as well as considering global trends;
To engage with all stakeholders to facilitate local, state and national resources specifically devoted to improve education outcomes.
GUEST SPEAKER: Mr Paul Clitheroe AM, Council Member of Philanthropy Australia.

In February 2004, the Federal Government appointed Paul as Chairman of the Consumer and Financial Literacy Foundation. This Foundation has established a national strategy to improve the financial skills of all Australians and is now implementing this strategy in schools and the workplace. In 2002, Paul and his wife Vicki set up a PAF, The Clitheroe Foundation.
