World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA)

Mission / Objective

WSPA, the World Society for the Protection of Animals, is an international organisation working in more than 150 countries. It exists for the sole purpose of improving the standards of animal welfare and does so by promoting the protection of animals through cruelty prevention and offering relief from suffering.

Projects in Progress

Regrettably, the exploitation of animals is common. Countless animals suffer daily at the hands of humans. WSPA is currently building a bear sanctuary in Romania, working to ban the practice of bear farming for bile extraction in China, supporting a sanctuary for the Orangutans in Borneo, and working with local societies to enable them to better care for stray dogs worldwide.
