Chief Executive Officer: Graeme Kelly

Graeme was appointed in April 2007 as Chief Executive Officer and Company Secretary of Vicdeaf (Victorian Deaf Society). Since his appointment Graeme has helped Vicdeaf further improve access to its broad range of services in Victoria, while improving operating and financial results. There has also been a significant investment made in improved staff conditions of employment and improved relations with the broad range of stakeholders including the Deaf community, funders and related organisations in our sector.

Prior to his appointment as CEO at Vicdeaf Graeme had over 20 years experience in health and emergency services in Victoria in a broad range of corporate roles with a strong emphasis on strategic and operational planning, human resources management, corporate communications, and operational general management. Previously employed by Eastern Health from 2001-2007 Graeme had executive responsibility for strategic planning, human resources, community relations and corporate support services. Eastern Health operates more than 50 health services sites in Melbourne, employs 4,400 EFT and has an annual operating budget of $490M.

Graeme has a strong commitment to the not for profit sector that supports the Victorian community. In addition to his Vicdeaf responsibilities he is Chairman of Outdoors Inc, an organization supporting people with mental illness through the provision of recreation and adventure activities and is also a Board member of the Andrew Dean Fildes Foundation for children with language and learning disabilities.

Graeme has a Master of Business (Organisation Dynamics) and is a member of the Institute of Company Directors, Australian Institute of Management, Australian Human Resources Institute, Australian College of Health Services Executives and is an alumnus of Leadership Victoria having completed the inaugural ExperienceBank Program in 2006.

Graeme has been married to Helen for over 30 years, has two adult children and an adult foster son. He loves music, including playing the drums, history, architecture, golf and supporting the Hawthorn Football Club, not necessarily in that order.
