Beneficiary Group

Victoria University serves Melbourne's western region and beyond, with 11 campuses spanning Melbourne’s western suburbs and the city Centre. In 2010 VU’s student population reached 51,000 and numbers continue to increase in 2011.

A comprehensive survey of our student population indicates that our students can be segmented as follows:

32% are disadvantaged Australian students including those from non-English speaking backgrounds
20% are young full time degree Australian students including those from non-English speaking backgrounds
23% are working third-generation Australians
25% are international students.

George Pappas became the fourth Chancellor of Victoria University on 1 January 2010.
