Mission / Objective

Established by the Knights of the Southern Cross in 1969, Southern Cross Care (Vic) provides residential and community aged care services and retirement living options to more than 3,700 seniors across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Southern Cross Care (Vic)'s mission as a non-profit organisation, is to provide high quality aged and community services based on Christian values with a vision to be the leading provider of lifestyle and service options. Committed to the health and well being of older people, Southern Cross Care (Vic) offers a broad range of care options regardless of a person's financial status, cultural background or care needs. Drawing on a wealth of experience and expertise, Southern Cross Care (Vic) is able to provide total care for its clients - from home-based aged care services delivered to people who wish to continue living in their own homes, to specialist residential aged care including dementia specific and palliative care.

Projects in Progress

Development of a cottage, day respite program in Melbourne's northern region, to support the carers and families of older people with dementia who are living at home; the development of a state of the art, integrated services development at Lynbrook (in Melbourne's major growth corridor), including a 96-bed residential aged care facility, a regional office for the SCC (Vic) Community Services Division (that assists older people to remain living in their own homes) and a unique retirement/lifestyle village and community centre. This progressive development will help ease the pressure for intergenerational and aged care services in the region.
