Mission / Objective

To enable children who are deaf and hearing-impaired to develop spoken language so that they may fully participate in a hearing world and in doing so reach their full potential.

Projects in Progress

The Shepherd Centre has five centres in NSW & ACT. We provide individual lessons teaching children with a hearing impairment how to speak by educating and working with parents. We also offer weekly playgroups, family counselling, audiology services and a cochlear implant program in conjunction with Sydney Children's Hospital. The Shepherd Centre has a Correspondence Program for families who live in rural areas as well as an annual week long residential workshop for parents and their children who live in remote areas. The Shepherd Centre charges no fees for their services.
