Mission / Objective

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical branch of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the bible, its ministry motivated by love for God. Its mission is both spiritual and practical, encompassing the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ and alleviating human suffering and distress without discrimination.

Projects in Progress

The Salvation Army in Australia provides many hundreds of social programmes, each one specifically developed to meet the needs of the area it operates in.  Each programme is reviewed regularly, ensuring it offers the highest quality of care and support, and is still well connected with the requirements of the local community.

During the last 12 months The Salvation Army assisted more than one million people across Australia, in the form of food vouchers and clothing parcels, furniture, toys , blankets, financial assistance, medication, counselling for alcohol and gambling addiction, homelessness  and domestic violence, crisis accommodation and court and prison chaplaincy, offering comfort  and assistance
