Mission / Objective
The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation's mission is to provide additional funding and resources for The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne, one of the world's leading paediatric hospitals and medical research centres. The Foundation raises funds through individual giving, corporate partnerships, major gifts, bequests, philanthropic grants and endowments. The annual Good Friday Appeal is also distributed to the hospital through RCH Foundation. Donated funds are used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment, fund medical research programs, scholarships for medical and allied health professionals and capital projects at the RCH.
Services
DONATE
No matter what your circumstances, you have the power right now to make a positive difference in young patient's lives.
When you donate any amount through the Foundation, be assured your generosity is buying excellence. That is, your contribution is channelled into world-class training, talent and equipment for the RCH - all the areas that make a good hospital a great hospital.
100% OF DONATED FUNDS GO TO THE HOSPITAL
The Foundation receives no government funding and is entirely dependent on the generosity of the community through donations, community funding and corporate partnerships. The Foundation is a lean organisation, running a low-cost administration model. Expenses related to the Foundation’s operating costs are met through earnings from investments. Supporters can be assured that 100% of their donation goes wholly and directly towards funding projects and initiatives that would otherwise not be possible.
All donations to the Foundation $2 and over are tax deductible.
Direct Donation
The best way to support is to donate directly. Your funds are extremely helpful, and will be used where they are most needed so that the hospital can fulfill its priorities.

Wills and Bequests
Leave a lasting footprint on the future of paediatric health care in Victoria by leaving a gift in your Will. Your bequest will help us continue to care for the thousands of children that come to the hospital in need each year.
Thankfully, many thoughtful people from all walks of life have left the world a better place this way.
Great things are made possible through bequests, such as research into presently incurable diseases, training in the latest surgical and care techniques, and acquisitions of life-saving technology.
Any consideration you can make to the Foundation in your Will, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
How do I leave a bequest?
To be sure your wishes are recognised, bequests need to be formally stated in your Will. It is recommended you seek independent, professional advice to help you in either writing or updating your Will.
Types of Bequests
DOLLAR AMOUNT
Your Will may state an exact dollar amount to the Foundation.
RESIDUARY BEQUEST
This is the remainder (known as the residue) of your estate, after providing specifically for family and friends. As there is no fixed dollar amount stated, a residuary bequest prevents inflation from reducing the 'real value' of your gift. It can be nominated as the whole, or a specified percentage, of the residue.
PECUNIARY BEQUEST
The gifting of specific items such as property, possessions, insurance policies or shares is known as a pecuniary bequest.
LIFE INTEREST BEQUEST
Your Will may give a particular person use of an asset, such as property or invested funds, for the duration of their life. Upon the passing of the nominated person, the asset can be passed on to the Foundation as your nominated end beneficiary.
WILL WORDING FOR A BEQUEST TO THE FOUNDATION
By providing the following wording to your solicitor when preparing your Will, you can ensure your wishes are clear and acted upon.
I, (insert name), give, devise and bequeath to The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation Limited (ABN 75 761 829 818) ATF The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation No. 2 Trust of 50 Flemington Road, Parkville, Victoria 3052, free of all claims, in aid of
its general purposes OR
the specific purpose of (insert here)
" the sum of $xxxx) OR
" the residue of my estate OR
" a (X)% share of the residue of my estate OR
" All my property known as (PROPERTY FOLIO NUMBER) situated at (ADDRESS OF PROPERTY) OR
" If any of the nominated beneficiaries predecease me, the bequest shall not fail but I give the share of my deceased beneficiary to The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation Limited ATF The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation No. 2 Trust
and I direct that the receipt of the proper officer of The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation Limited ATF The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation No. 2 Trust shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors for my bequest.
