Mission / Objective

Established on the Mornington Peninsula in 1984, Peninsula Hospice Service (PHS) is an accredited, not-for-profit community palliative care organisation providing specialist health care and practical support to people living at home with a terminal illness.

Beneficiary Group

PHS services all residents within the Mornington Peninsula Shire, City of Frankston and parts of the city of Kingston south of Mordialloc Creek as well as their families and carers.

Projects in Progress

Services offered include nursing, medical consultancy, counselling, art therapy, music therapy, pastoral care, social work, welfare support, client care volunteer support and bereavement services.

General Donations

PHS gratefully accepts all general donations that are used to directly provide client services. As PHS is a Deductible Gift Recipient, all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Volunteering

Annual intake for client care volunteers is advertised towards the end of the year with new volunteers commencing training in February of the following year. Training is for 10 weeks and the ongoing commitment of volunteers is a minimum of 4 hours per week. PHS currently has 64 client care volunteers who provide support and assistance to those living in their own home with a terminal illness.

Other support

PHS provides counselling and bereavement support as well as client welfare services for financial assistance when needed.
