Mission / Objective

Opportunity International Australia's mission is to provide opportunities for people in poverty to transform their lives. Our strategy is to provide microfinance to establish small businesses and enterprise and livelihood development services to strengthen communities amongst the poor. Our method is to work through indigenous microfinance institutions and enterprise development service providers, supporting their operations as we partner together to serve the poor. Our vision is to see millions of poor people make their way out of poverty permanently. Opportunity International's commitment is motivated by Jesus Christ's call to serve the poor. The Opportunity International Network works throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

Projects in Progress

Trust Bank Sponsorship in East Timor, Indonesia, the Phillipines, India and Ghana. This is a program that brings together up to 30 poor entrepreneurs who receive business loans, training and mentoring, empowering them and their community. Tax-deductible project funding is $10,000. Special Projects also exist for donations over this amount.
