Mission / Objective
Helping Hand Aged Care is committed to research, innovation and the
enhancement of services in aged care. Our mission is to provide an
innovative and broad range of residential and community based services to
older people, which enable them to have the best feasible quality of life. We
believe that choice of service, independence and dignity, is the right of all
older Australians, and we ask you to work with us on meeting the challenges
of the future.
Services
Residential Care – North Adelaide, Mawson Lakes, Ingle Farm, Parafield
Gardens, Clare Jamestown and Port Pirie.
Community Care - Domestic Assistance, personal care, home and garden
maintenance, nursing care, counselling.
Carer and respite support and Grandparents as Parents program.
Therapy services – occupational therapy, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy,
podiatry.
Dementia, disability, mental health, rehabilitation and social support and
Veterans assistance
Projects in Progress
Partnership with Wheelchair Homes for 20 wheelchair friendly houses at Ingle
Farm and 15 homes (including affordable housing) planned for Para Hills.
New 110 bed facility at Northgate (Lightsview)
Upgrade of Jamestown, North Adelaide and Parafield Gardens facilities and
extension to Mawson Lakes facility.
Reducing social isolation and loneliness for older people living within the
community.
Breaking down cultural barriers in health for older people.

Mr Ian Hardy is Chief Executive Officer of Helping Hand Aged Care, former
National President of ACSA (Aged & Community Services Australia) 1999-2001
and Chair of Aged and Community Services SA/NT 1997-99. Member Advisory
Committee Commonwealth Aged Care Pricing Review 2003-4, current Member
Advisory Committee Community Care Review, Member Advisory Board for Elder Law
Review (University of Western Sydney), current Member Minister’s
Implementation Taskforce (MIT), current Member ACROD/Aged Care National
Policy Committee.

A bequest to Helping Hand Aged Care can assist with upgrading existing
facilities, building new developments, community programs, and research. You

General Donations
Helping Hand Aged Care is a not-for-profit organisation which relies heavily
upon public support through donations. Over the last five decades, generous
donations and have enabled the steady growth of Helping Hand Aged Care with
significant increases in the development of a broad range of services and
equipment, in both residential and support at home, for older South
Australians.
Volunteering
Helping Hand Aged Care relies very heavily upon the support of volunteers who
play a significant role in supporting staff, residents and clients. Each of
Helping Hand Aged Care’s residential sites is also supported by a committed
group of volunteers known as Auxiliary members. These members volunteer their
time to undertake fundraising as well as other activities to support their
particular site of interest. New Auxiliary members are always welcomed.
