Mission / Objective

Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action. Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation that uses non-violent direct action to expose global environmental problems and to force solutions which are essential to a green and peaceful future. Greenpeace's goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity.

Projects in Progress

There are many urgent environmental issues that need to be addressed. To ensure the best use of our resources, Greenpeace Australia Pacific works with Greenpeace International to target campaigns that need global action. With our limited resources we find that to focus on a small number of campaigns at any one time is the most effective way to achieve change for the environment. Our office works on a range of issues in Australia and the Pacific. These issues include: * Climate change * Deep sea destruction * Deforestation * Genetic engineering * Nuclear power * Overfishing * Peace * Whales

Every gift in every Will, no matter what size, strengthens our commitment to protecting our natural world for generations to come. When the time is right for you to create or update your Will, after you have provided for your family and loved ones, please consider a gift to Greenpeace. It can be so rewarding to know that your ideals will live on in a practical way though Greenpeace.

General Donations

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation that uses non-violent direct action to expose global environmental problems and to force solutions which are essential to a green and peaceful future. Voluntary donations from individuals fund our urgent work for the planet. Your donation is vital for helping us continue our work and be the voice our planet so desperately needs.

We do not accept funding from governments or corporations; instead we rely on the goodwill and generosity of people like you to continue our work. This ensures we're in the best position to take action and confront people and organisations that are destroying our environment.

Volunteering

Armchair Activist
Not all activism is about attending rallies. From the comfort of your own
home you can participate in our cyberactions, join online media debates,
write letters, call talkback radio, post blogs and use your networks to
spread the word for positive environmental change.

Community Activist
Community activists get mobile and spread the word in their local
neighbourhood. You might want to organise an information stall, visit your
local MP's office or be part of a rally or community-based event. We can help
you get started with tips, information and the materials you need.

Office Volunteers
Committed volunteers are the backbone of Greenpeace. Volunteer on a
short-term or ongoing basis in our Sydney, Suva and Canberra offices.
Students, recent graduates, experienced individuals and keen seniors are all
warmly welcome.
