CEO

Ms Petra Neeleman, Chief Executive Officer

Resume Petra Neeleman (B.Bus ASA, FAIM, AICD) is CEO of DutchCare Ltd, a not for profit organisation that has comprehensive residential and community care programs servicing 900 clients per week. She is a Director of Aged and Community Care Victoria, chair of ACCV’s Finance and Audit Committee and a member of the Issues and ChallengesTaskforces. She believes that we must offer the very best care to elders even if that means challenging current systems. Language and culture are essential ingredients in providing the whole of life care for elders and Petra has been an advocate for the provision of culturally appropriate services. She currently serves on the boards of two other aged care providers interstate. Petra was a founding board member and past chairperson of Eden-in-Oz. In response to shortages of registered nurses, Petra along with her team at DutchCare has developed a model of care which does not have nurses as the central focus in the provision of care or management of the unit. Now know as the Polder Model, it has received much industry acclamation both in Australia and overseas with the International Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing awarding to DutchCare its 2006 Award for Excellence and Innovation. Petra is the 2006 winner of the Jonas Kreveld Award for services to business and the community. Petra has presented at numerous national and international conferences on models of care, the Eden Alternative and culture change. She has also led a number of study tours overseas.
