Channel 7 Children's Research Foundation of SA Inc

Mission / Objective

The Channel 7 Children's Research Foundation of South Australia Incorporated was established in 1976 by television station Channel 7 Adelaide (then Channel 10). An honorary Board oversees the Foundation, and comprises representatives from Channel 7 Adelaide, Novita Children's Services, the Children, Youth & Women's Health Service, The University of Adelaide, Flinders University and The University of South Australia. The purpose of the Foundation is to support health, educational or social research to encourage and advance investigation into the cause, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of any condition that may affect the general health, education or welfare of children in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Projects in Progress

Each year the Foundation disburses approximately $1,000,000 to support children's research; the maximum funding per individual grant is up to $75,000 per annum, which may be taken over 1 or 2 years. Early Career Grants of up to $35,000 are also available, to encourage aspiring researchers to lead their first research project as a Chief Investigator.
