Bayley House

Bayley House is a Brighton based organisation that provides a range of support services and programs for over 175 adults with an intellectual disability. An extensive day program provides activities that promote skill development and facilitate ongoing learning. Programs include: sport, pre-vocational training, recreation activities, health & hygeine, literacy & numeracy, art & craft, workplace volunteering, dance & drama, cooking and much more. The residential service offers ongoing supported accommodation for over 40 people. We manage six houses, an independent living complex and a respite house. Our respite service provides short term facility based respite for individuals in the Southern Metropolitan Region. Our recreation and community access program is part of the respite service and offers a wide range of non-facility based recreational activities on weekends and during holiday periods.

To provide the best possible individually tailored services to meet the needs of people with an intellectual disability throughout their lives, recognising the values of Bayley House. Beneficiary Group

Bayley House supports over 175 adults with an intellectual disability and offers assistance to their family and carers.

Our clients are drawn from throughout the Bayside and surrounding suburbs and range in age from 18 years to the mid 70s.

Projects in Progress

  • Rebuilding of Helen Schutt House:

A property has been purchased in Mentone which will be the new location of one of our supported accommodation residences, Helen Schutt House. Plans are currently being completed to provide a state-of-the-art facility that will cater for people with high support needs. It is anticipated that building will commence in early 2012 and be completed by the end of 2012.  

Relocation of Bayley @ Jobworks:

Bayley @ Jobworks offers pre-vocational training for clients via contract work such as packaging, labellng and mailouts.  The program is being relocated to a site in Noyes Street in Highett. Bayley House is currently undertaking modifications to the building so that it better meets our needs. This work should be completed by the end of Feb 2012.
