AMAQ Foundation (Aust Medical Assoc of QLD)

The Foundation exists to provide relief from sickness, suffering and poverty among underprivileged and disadvantaged persons throughout Queensland as well as parts of South East Asia, particularly in rural and remote regions, through the financing of improved medical services. The Foundation will also support medical education and research.

Mission / Objective

The AMAQ Foundation's mission is to improve medical conditions in areas of need, by raising funds to finance and implement: * Improved services, especially in rural and remote areas. * Improved medical education and research.

Beneficiary Group

Disadvantaged persons throughout Queensland, in particular rural and remote regions.

Projects in Progress

The Foundation provides annual support to Muscular Dystrophy Patients, Cancer Research, Royal Childrens Hospital and Public Health Education in Cambodia.   The Foundation has also provided direct support and improved medical services to Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, Augathella, Charleville, Thargomindah, Nanango, Bundaberg, Townsville, Rockhampton, Toowong and India.  The Foundation also provides annual financial support to the Red Hill Special School, for students with multiple physical and mental impairments.
