Accessible Arts

Accessible Arts is the peak arts and disability organisation for NSW. Established in 1986, Accessible Arts strives to promote the human right of people with disability to participate in the arts as artists, audience members and through employment in the arts sector.The organisation is a central resource for information, and our mission is to promote full inclusion, access and opportunities for people with disability, including physical, intellectual, psychiatric, sensory, neurological, and, learning difficulties, through advocacy, education and information.

Mission / Objective

To promote full inclusion, access and cultural opportunities in the arts for people with disabilities through advocacy, education and information.

Beneficiary Group

People with disability - physical, intellectual, psychiatric, sensory (including visual and hearing disabilities), neurological (including acquired brain injuries), learning difficulties, physical disfigurement, and, the presence in the body of disease causing organisms (this includes people living with HIV/AIDS).

Making a will is an important thing to do – it gives you the opportunity to safeguard what is important to you and how you want your assets to be managed.

As a benevolent institution, Accessible Arts relies on the generous support received from donors, trusts, foundations and corporate sponsorship as well as the funding we receive from government departments.

Volunteering

Accessible Arts welcomes volunteers and we have a dedicated group providing regular support in our office as well as providing support across many of our activities including AART BOXX, our bi-annual national survey exhibition.
