How did you end up here?

Good fortune! I was lucky enough to that John Emerson as me to work with him in 2000, just when I was contemplating asking him the same thing!

What is the best thing about working in the third sector?

The People. Such compassion, vision, passion and balance.

What drew you to the third sector?

The diversity of activities, of people and the complexity of the law in this area!

If you could be or do anything else, what would it be?

I always quite liked the idea of being a bike courier – you would be so fit!

What gets you up in the morning?

Most mornings the need to walk the dog before the usual before school and work bedlam – in the holidays nothing but the sunshine!!

‘I consider my greatest achievement to be…’

Filling in this questionnaire.

‘I hope that this year…’

It rains in those parts which still desperately need it.

‘In life it’s important to…’

First and foremost, to have a sense of humour and keep things in proportion.

What is one thing about you that few people know?

I am really very fond of peanut butter.

What is the best piece of wisdom you give to your children?

You mean I am meant to be saying more than: clean your room, say please and thank you, offer to help, elbows off the table, stop sniffing, the bowl goes in the machine not just on top, help carry the shopping bags, clean your teeth, stand up straight, do your homework, stop playing on the computer and read a book, eat some fruit, look at me when I am talking to you, etc, etc!!
