What is VolunteerMatch?

VolunteerMatch is a free service provided by Pro Bono Australia that enables Not for Profit organisations to advertise for assistance from skilled volunteers. Not for Profit organisations post volunteer opportunities on our website (for free!), which are then able to be viewed by potential volunteers. Volunteers can then apply (for free!) via our website and be linked directly with the organisation in need.

VolunteerMatch is also a resource centre for information about volunteering in Australia. We compile information from all our volunteering friends across Australia and are determined to become the greatest body of volunteering knowledge.

Not for Profit organisations can post advertisements, free of charge, seeking assistance from skilled volunteers. Assistance can be in a variety of forms, such as the performance of specific tasks (web design, board membership or bookkeeping) or even professional advice, guidance or mentoring.

The advertisements from Not for Profit organisations are posted onto our website and are available to be viewed by people who feel they have professional skills or experience and are also interested in giving up their time to volunteer. 

Skilled Volunteers can be defined as: individuals with qualifications or professional experience, who are willing to give up their time and expertise (free of charge) to assist others.

Skills and experience can include traditional training and qualifications or perhaps on-the-job experience within a certain industry.

VolunteerMatch is a free service run by Pro Bono Australia as part of our commitment to resourcing Not for Profit organisations in their work. We love the idea of people helping each other and will do anything we can to make it easier for people to get involved. 

VolunteerMatch is a free service because at Pro Bono Australia we truly believe that helping each other is the key to successfully developing the communities we live in. Because we get our money from other sources, we are able to keep VolunteerMatch as a simple 'helping hand' to the community. And plus we're just really nice.
